Sunrooms are About Light!

“Sunrooms” are as hard to define as “Florida rooms” or “mud rooms.” What the heck are they? In end, they are whatever the homeowner says they are. But, whether you envision a new addition or a remodeling of an existing space, “sunrooms” are about light. And, in our opinion, they are about airflow during the summer.

In fact, summer is not the problem. The problem is Old Man Winter. That’s why City Construction will urge you to opt for triple-pane glass with an insulating value of R-10, as opposed to the R-3.5 value of regular glass. The labor costs are the same. The materials cost are a bit higher. But who wouldn’t pay a tad more to eliminate cold-weather drafts and reduce heating bills?
